October 2011 Oomph! Festival coming soon..
Oomph! is a festival of creative exploration which will take place throughout the Black Country, Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire from 9th – 23rd November 2011. The NineScreen VideoWall project that we developed with Alumwell Business College and Brandhall Primary School is going to be featured as a large-scale installation in the Wolverhampton Art Gallery for the duration of the festival.

October 2011 Research and Mentoring visit to Los Angeles
Visit to work alongside artist Kim Abeles, Los Angeles, California. In September 2011 I spent 12 days with Los Angeles-based artist Kim Abeles, working alongside her in the studio and meeting people from across the cultural sector.

September 2011 Me, You, and Everything Else
Our intergenerational photography project Me, You and Everything Else is soon to be exhibited in the Community Gallery, part of the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. We are currently finalising the sequencing, printing and mounting the images and text, and preparing some additional new material.

November 2010 Working Man’s Death
I have been inspired by this remarkable series four short films commissioned and presented by Al Jazeera exploring contemporary aspects of hard manual work around the world. The production is unusual considering that it has been commissioned by a major media organisation: there is no interpretive commentary allowing the powerful images and the subtitled words of the workers to speak for themselves.

September 2010: The Glass thesis back online
I have been asked several times recently to re-post the thesis I wrote for my M.Phil way back in 1997. This paper was called Digital Realist Montage was part of the project called The Glass – a series of large-scale print and screen based digital montages that explore aspects of the complex relationship between the west and the ‘developing’ world. I have resurrected it here and also linked it on The Glass page.

May 2010 A new installation: For the love of it

May 2010 Goat Milk Festival – Bela Rechka
I attended the Goat Milk festival in Bela Rechka, a beautiful village set in the mountains of northern Bulgaria. Around 100 people from across Europe and beyond took the opportunity to participate in a long weekend dedicated to exploring and sharing practice around story-telling and memories.

March 2010. March 2010. Travels around the central African country of Uganda. It was my first visit to the continent and was not sure what to expect, but experienced a rich, beautiful and welcoming country, a place to return to.

October 2009 St Edmunds – Aspirations Project
Last week saw the celebration of the Aspirations Project with St Edmund’s Catholic School in Wolverhampton. The project ended with a mass balloon launch where staff and pupils each attached a personal message about their hopes and dreams.
