September 2009 Skopje Creative Lab

I  took part in a 10 day Creative Laboratory held in Skopje, Macedonia, in September 2009. www.interculturaldialogue.net/news/september-2009/ Brendan Jackson (project director): ‘Together, with the help of local city guides, they were able to explore the city and engage in dialogue with local people – a form of action research – considering questions of identity and cultural heritage. Working together for a focused week, they were invited to make a creative response to the environment of Skopje, and share this with a wider audience with a weekend event at the centre.’

This early work-in-progress is made up of a grid of 9 video images that are programmed to play randomly. As more video clips are added to work, they form dynamic montages of perceptions and viewpoints of a rapidly changing city.
Made using MAX MSP and Jitter this was collaboratively developed with fellow UK artist Bobby Bird, with additional sound design from artist Martin Clarke.
