Me, You and Everything Else was an intergenerational participatory photographic project based in Castle Vale, Birmingham, that ran between between October 2010 and March 2011. Participants’ used the creative potential of photography to reflect, explore and re-imagine life – both past and present – in different ways.
VideoWall is a presentation of 9 constantly changing video and audio portraits displayed in a public space within Alumwell Business and Enterprise College, Walsall. Participants are invited to sit in front of a video camera in a formal studio setting and are facilitated to discuss their thoughts and experiences, or simply allow the recording of a video portrait. The aim of the project is to positively celebrate and reflect back the participating pupils in a highly contemporary and dynamic medium.
Towers Above is a Telford-based community arts project that engages with mental health service users to encourage creative expression and contribute to their well-being. I was appointed to work with director Sharon Walford in the capacity of mentor to support the project’s development and help it to achieve it aims.
A short film that commissioned by ABCD (All Saints and Blakenhall Community Development) in Wolverhampton. It reflects some of the many groups that have been supported by the Community Chest Scheme.
Aspirational Futures is a collaborative project developed by Performing Arts Teacher Sarah Cole, artist Vicki Stinchcombe and myself to a celebratory memorable event around inspiration, ambition and our future. We wanted to develop a project that would have an impact across the school and was something everyone could be involved in.
- In the Autumn of 2008 I contributed to this event by co-devising and coordinating the Creative Conversation event at St George’s Hall, Liverpool.
- In the Autumn of 2007 I worked with eight residents of Inverness Prison on a series of creative projects. Focusing upon abstract expression and photo montage, the group produced 25 pieces that were exhibited at Old High Church Hall, Inverness in November 2007.
- a collaborative project with artist Jo Russell-Lacy and the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham. We worked with 30 pupils from Kingswood primary school creatively exploring different aspects of the work of Richard Deakon, culminating in an exhibition at the Ikon Gallery.
- A collaborative with students Mayfield School in Handsworth exploring family, community and belonging using photography, light and textile printing. It was showing at the DRUM, Birmingham in July 2006.
