The Salt Passages Installation

The installation was first housed at the Innovation and Virtual Reality Centre, University of Teesside, UK, December 12-20, 1998.

This installation consists of projected video images and sound samples which are triggered as people approach the area of the work. Laser sensors detect the movement of passers by and project loops of video are projected onto the floor. Each loop consists of faces and various 'scenes' derived from the Teesside landscape. The sensors also trigger sound samples consisting of the voices the participants combined with sound scapes.
