Sounding The Black Country

a collaboration between Annie Mahtani and Geoff Broadway

Sounding The Black Country is an installation that explores perceptions of the Black Country through images and sounds. Through a circle of 6 speakers local people speak of their own sense of belonging to the area. These voices are combined with a dynamic, experimental soundtrack, while large scale images from the area are back-projected into the space.
